Style Sessions with Shelby Jewel Are Back for Fall

Fall is officially on the horizon, which means it’s almost time to trade in the light, flowy dresses, sandals, and shorts for boots, sweaters, scarves, and all the layers that make Fall dressing so much fun. Saddle Creek Style Sessions with Shelby Jewel are back from September 21-26 with complimentary, one-on-one styling sessions focused on helping you make the most of your Fall wardrobe.

Whether you’re ready for a seasonal refresh, interested in investing in a capsule wardrobe, need new looks for a Fall break getaway, or have always wondered what working with a personal stylist could look like, these sessions are a great place to start.

What to Expect

Start with a 10-minute virtual consultation
Before your Style Session, you’ll have a quick, 10-minute virtual consultation with Shelby to talk through your style needs and pinpoint your biggest wardrobe pain points. It’s quick, focused, and designed to help Shelby get a better idea of what you’re looking for before you shop together. A consultation with Shelby is required in order to book a Style Session.

Shelby shops for you ahead of time.
Before your complimentary two-hour session, Shelby will visit one to three Saddle Creek stores and pre-pull pieces specifically with your needs in mind. Whether you’re looking for Fall staples, a mini capsule wardrobe, or simply a few new pieces to refresh your closet, she’ll create a thoughtful starting point for your shopping experience.

Then, you shop together.
During your two hours together, Shelby will share styling tips, offer fit advice, and help you understand why a particular piece may or may not work for you. She’ll also serve as your liaison with the sales associates at each store, making the entire experience feel seamless and stress-free.

Three time slots will be available each day, Monday through Friday (excluding Saturday).

The goal? To have you walk away with new styling knowledge, a little more confidence, and hopefully a few shopping bags in tow. If Fall has you ready for a wardrobe refresh, this is your chance to shop Saddle Creek with a personal stylist by your side. If you loved the process, then you’ll have the option to set up an appointment with her for more in-depth services.

Timeless Classics At Vineyard Vines

Vineyard Vines, the iconic brand with the tiny smiling whale logo, is now open in The Shops of Saddle Creek!

Founded by brothers Shep & Ian Murray in 1998, Vineyard Vines has always been a brand that strives to bring you and your families “every day should feel this good” moments.

Famous for its smiling pink whale and whimsical ties, they create a wide range of clothes and accessories for the Good Life, from polos and tees to performance gear and Shep Shirts for men, women and kids.

If you love that cool, quintessentially preppy style (think polo shirts, cashmere sweaters, classic denim silhouettes, pleated skirts, and other coastal inspired styles) this is the store for you.

Summer Capsule Wardrobe with J. Jill

Warmer temps are here, which means it’s time to get your Summer wardrobe together! How do we do this? By investing in a handful of foundational pieces that you can mix and match together with other pieces that you already own in your closet.

Building a capsule wardrobe (vs. just buying a ton of new clothes) will allow you to have pieces that you can throw on at any time throughout the season, so you will always feel chic and put together. J. Jill is known for their versatile pieces, so if you’re ready to make a Summer Capsule Wardrobe, here are a few pieces that I’d recommend.

Gauzy Button-Up Tunic
One can never have too many button-ups, and the textured gauzy feel of this button up makes it perfect for Summer. Wear with your favorite denim (a white cropped white pair is a must!), or make it do double-duty as a cover-up for the beach.

Cropped Denim
Jeans have always been a Summer staple, and it’s something that won’t ever change! You can wear them almost everywhere, so it’s best to find a pair that’s comfy but still flattering, that works with both heels and flats, and are a medium wash. Pair with cute blouses, or a linen dolman tee and patterned kimono for a look that can take you from brunch to a night out with friends.

A-Line Shirt Dress
Having a go-to dress that you can easily dress up or down is a must-have for Summer, and this super soft shirt dress is perfect for that. The collar gives it structure, and the button-hem detail makes it different from the rest. Bonus? It has pockets!

Maxi Skirt
Not really into jeans or shorts? Try a maxi skirt instead. They will still offer a lot of versatility in styling, but will also keep things comfy as well. Our favorite way to style is with a matching blouse (if available); just add a cool belt to help break things up!

When building your capsule wardrobe, think about the color palette that you want to work with so that you can invest in pieces that work really well together. It will make getting dressed so much easier!

5 Transitional Pieces From Madewell For Fall

The official first day of Fall is only a few days away, and while the temps may still be a little warm, we’re starting to get glimpses of what’s to come once Autumn officially arrives. Fall has always been my favorite time of year for fashion, so naturally I’m itching to update my wardrobe with pieces that will help me easily transition into the season.

I lean more towards a classic, slightly 70s aesthetic when temps start to cool down, so I popped into our Madewell store to see what was new (and for a little style inspo). If you’re in need of some new pieces as well, here are 5 transitional pieces from Madewell that are perfect for Fall.

Fresh Denim
New denim will ALWAYS be a great choice, and Fall is typically when newer cuts and washes are released in stores. I try to keep a variety of styles in stock: a skinny, a flare, and a boyfriend cut. This will give me versatility with the silhouettes that I want to play with when putting outfits together. Madewell is known for their denim, and they have a ton of different styles to choose from, up to a size 4X.

Casual Boot
Last year I fell in love with combat boots, but this year I want to add a Chelsea Boot into the mix. We love a good “model off duty” fit, and these paired with a girlfriend denim and an oversized pullover sweater will easily give you that vibe, or you can just keep it simple and chic in all black with leggings and a moto jacket as well.

Gold Jewelry
As much as I like to try out quirky statement jewelry, time and time again I find myself going back to classic gold accessories, and some of my favorites have come from Madewell. I never leave home without jewelry because I feel like it completes every outfit. From earrings, to necklaces to rings, I always update my jewelry collection with their pieces. They’re great quality, long lasting, and make every outfit look chic.

Leather Crossbody
Madewell has some of the best handbags on the market, so it’s only fitting that a new crossbody style be added to your wardrobe. A quality crossbody bag that can be worn every day is perfect for both those that are always on the go, and the people that don’t like to carry around a lot of junk with them. The shapes feel equally vintage and modern, so your look will always be timeless.

Cool Sunnies
A timeless aviator style of sunglasses are a MUST for everyone. No matter what your personal style is, they instantly make you look cool, and they literally go with everything.

In addition to these essentials, I like to stock up on easy long sleeve tees, light-weight cardigans, a slip-on mule and a few floral midi dresses to help get me through the transitional part of the season. I’m so happy that it’s finally starting to warm up in Memphis, and we’ve partnered with some of our favorite local influencers to highlight Spring styles and trends from a few of our Saddle Creek retailers to help you get through the season in style.

The past few months have been rough, but now that the weather is pleasant and patio season is back, it feels good to be able to get dressed and (safely) hang out with family and friends.

Refreshing your wardrobe for Spring is a must, and I don’t know about you, but we’ve been itching to update our closets with some new pieces for the season. 6 Things To Help You Get Through Winter

Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow on Groundhog’s Day, and with Memphis having such unpredictable weather (hello Snowmeggedon 2021!), this means we still have quite a few more weeks of Winter ahead of us. Not to worry, however, because that means we can indulge a little while longer in all things comfy and cozy to help us get through it. Treating yourself to something a little more luxe doesn’t necessarily mean it has to be expensive. In my eyes, it’s all about the quality of the product, not the price. Besides, if we’re going to be in the house because of cold weather, don’t you want to be as cozy and comfy as possible?

Accessories are the easiest way to update your wardrobe each season, and now that Winter is here, it’s time to find a few cold weather weather appropriate bags. There are so many fun options to choose from this season, especially when it comes to prints and textures. And thankfully, you don’t have to go broke when you want to add something new; there’s always some type of sale going on this time of year, plus a lot of stores get in new inventory as well. I’ve always been the type to carry the same bag every day, but I like to add new ones periodically. I carry a lot of stuff with me and have my camera most days, but I still try to switch it up from time to time so that I can actually enjoy my handbag collection.
