Must-Have Denim with Madewell

There *IS* a such thing as the perfect denim, and Madewell is on a mission to help you find it with them. Must-Try Fall Trends with Madewell

When I think of Fall, there are certain sartorial trends that will always come to mind: cozy knits, easy denim, and a touch of leather (amongst other things). Yes, we all have our own unique personal style, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge that there are certain pieces/trends that should make its way into our wardrobes when the temps begin to cool.

Madewell’s current Fall collection is full of those quintessential pieces to add in, so if you were looking for a little style inspo, here are some of the must-try Fall trends.

Houndstooth Boyfriend Blazer
One can never have too many blazers, and a relaxed-fit, houndstooth blazer is a perfect layering piece to add in for Fall. Pair it with your favorite distressed denim to dress them up a bit, or give your corporate trousers a more “cool girl” fit by wearing it over an easy tank and finishing the look with chunky loafers.

Plaid Skirt
Skirts are alway fun, and this hunter green color screams Fall. Wear with a chunky turtleneck sweater and ankle booties for a classic Fall look, or pair with tights and a leather jacket for a style that’s a little more mod. Is it really Fall if you don’t wear a chunky knit sweater at some point? You honestly can never have too many because they literally go with everything, but if nothing else, add in an off white/cream color to wear with all of your minimalistic pieces.

A touch of leather
Whether it’s a classic moto jacket or a pair of leather trousers, you need a strong leather piece to add a bit of edge to any outfit. Moto jackets go with everything, and leather trousers can be dressed up or down depending on how you style them.

Don’t forget your beanie!

Easy Flannel
Flannel is another Fall staple, but not all style are created the same. Go for a more soft, neutral color palette to avoid looking like a lumberjack, and use it as a layering piece over your favorite pair of denim on days when it’s still a little cool out.

Classic Accessories
Gold hoops and layering necklaces will NEVER go out of style, and you will always need a pair of neutral/tan colored leather booties to wear with all of your skirts, denim, and maxi dresses.

Summer Essentials with Madewell

While everyone has their own personal style, there are still pieces that people will stock their wardrobe with and reach for every season. Summer is known for its easy, breezy classics, and Madewell is a great place to find pieces that are classic, yet still on trend for the season.

We have a few more weeks of Summer remaining, so if you’re in need of a few wardrobe refreshers, here are a few Summer essentials that you should consider picking up from Madewell.

Dresses
Keeping cool during the Summer is a MUST, so obviously dresses should be on your wardrobe list. Because we are in a transitional period, however, I’d advise picking out dresses in darker prints, neutrals and more muted tones vs. super bright colors so that you can easily transition them into the Fall. Pair now with your favorite sandals, then switch over to ankle booties and layer a white or denim jacket over it.

Flare Denim
While flare denim is usually reserved for Fall outfits, now’s the perfect time to add a pair to your wardrobe. Pair them with an easy, retro style tee and sandals for now, and then swap those out for booties and a flowy, boho style blouse.

Leather handbags
In addition to jewelry, find a fun, leather handbag that you can wear everyday. Cognac and beige are great neutrals, but don’t be afraid to try a fun color as well.

White Denim
White denim that fits great, has a little bit of stretch without being tight and is not too thin is hard to find, but Madewell’s Perfect Vintage Jean is amazing. Trend To Try | Summer Blazers with Madewell

Looking for a laidback, more relaxed Summer style vibe that’s a step above your favorite tee and jeans? Try topping your next look with a Summer Blazer. Blazers are a wardrobe staple for most people, but for Summer, the must-have styles are slightly oversized and in a lightweight fabrications like cotton and linen. While they can most certainly be worn to work, this isn’t a stuffy, corporate style blazer.

5 Transitional Pieces From Madewell For Fall

The official first day of Fall is only a few days away, and while the temps may still be a little warm, we’re starting to get glimpses of what’s to come once Autumn officially arrives. Fall has always been my favorite time of year for fashion, so naturally I’m itching to update my wardrobe with pieces that will help me easily transition into the season.

I lean more towards a classic, slightly 70s aesthetic when temps start to cool down, so I popped into our Madewell store to see what was new (and for a little style inspo). If you’re in need of some new pieces as well, here are 5 transitional pieces from Madewell that are perfect for Fall.

Fresh Denim
New denim will ALWAYS be a great choice, and Fall is typically when newer cuts and washes are released in stores. I try to keep a variety of styles in stock: a skinny, a flare, and a boyfriend cut. This will give me versatility with the silhouettes that I want to play with when putting outfits together. Madewell is known for their denim, and they have a ton of different styles to choose from, up to a size 4X.

Casual Boot
Last year I fell in love with combat boots, but this year I want to add a Chelsea Boot into the mix. We love a good “model off duty” fit, and these paired with a girlfriend denim and an oversized pullover sweater will easily give you that vibe, or you can just keep it simple and chic in all black with leggings and a moto jacket as well.

Gold Jewelry
As much as I like to try out quirky statement jewelry, time and time again I find myself going back to classic gold accessories, and some of my favorites have come from Madewell. I never leave home without jewelry because I feel like it completes every outfit. From earrings, to necklaces to rings, I always update my jewelry collection with their pieces. They’re great quality, long lasting, and make every outfit look chic.

Leather Crossbody
Madewell has some of the best handbags on the market, so it’s only fitting that a new crossbody style be added to your wardrobe. A quality crossbody bag that can be worn every day is perfect for both those that are always on the go, and the people that don’t like to carry around a lot of junk with them. In addition to these essentials, I like to stock up on easy long sleeve tees, light-weight cardigans, a slip-on mule and a few floral midi dresses to help get me through the transitional part of the season.
