New year new you! Well, maybe you’re not that extreme, lol, but the start of the new year IS actually a great time to recharge and refocus on your goals, especially those related to fitness. It can be hard finding motivation around this, but we all know that incorporating movement regularly into our routine is great for our health, so here are a few tips to help you out!

Consider buying a few new workout pieces.
I don’t know about you, but nothing motivates me to workout more than getting cute workout clothes. I love wearing sets vs. just throwing anything on, so adding in a few new pieces is perfect for reactivating the excitement around going to the gym. Treat working out as a form of self-care.
Regardless of how you decide to incorporate more movement into your life, treating it as part of your self-care routine can help make it easier to do. Working out is not only good for your body, but it’s great for your mental health as well. It’s a lifestyle!

Focus on consistency vs. intensity.
Consistency means something different for everyone, but one thing to remember is that you don’t have to kill yourself in the gym in order to feel like you got a good workout in. Even just going for a 30 minute walk can help improve your health over time, so do what makes sense for your schedule and makes you feel food.

You don’t have to be a Pilates Princess just because it’s the trend right now. One of the keys to enjoying working out and making fitness a normal part of your life is doing what you actually enjoy. I’m not saying working out should be easy, but it doesn’t have to feel like the worse thing in the world to do. You’re much more likely to stick with it if it doesn’t feel like a chore.
